The Cur-OST Line of health products originated out veterinary practice of Dr. Tom Schell over 18 years of clinical observation and research. Dr. Schell made the conclusion that it was most common to simply apply quick fixes to the patients as problems arose and totally ignore the concept of chronic inflammation which opened the door for many of these clinical problems. Dr. Schell felt that in clinical practice, there was an abuse of prescription medications to control pain and combat joint disease, when in fact many of these medications were actually covering up the underlying problems and doing little to affect the progression of the diseases themselves as well as improve the health of the patient.
In 2006, after a personal battle with cancer, Dr. Schell began his research involving Curcumin and Boswellia on the process of chronic inflammation and over production of inflammatory proteins which contributed to various diseases and tissue destruction. Out of this research, Dr. Schell created the line of Cur-OST products which he used in practice before releasing it to the general public.
Acute Inflammation
The short term inflammatory process needed to repair tissue associated with injury or infection. Infiltration of local tissue with white blood cells and plasma cells occurs along with release of chemical signalers to increase blood circulation, remove dead or damaged tissue, fight bacteria and supply nutrients to aid in repair.
Acute inflammation is a necessary process and is intended to be temporary.
Chronic Inflammation
An ongoing inflammatory process due to persistent infection, presence of foreign material, immune reactions, dietary influences, environmental influences, mental components, excessive exercise, medical interactions, vaccine interactions, exposure of the body to various toxins and more. This process results in the overproduction of pro-inflammatory signalers (Cytokines) resulting in cellular activation, tissue destruction, cellular malfunction, fibrosis and poor immune function. Chronic inflammation also results in the ongoing release of free radicals or reactive oxygen species which lead to further tissue damage and loss of function.
Overall, chronic inflammation leads to poor health and a predisposition to a variety of diseases and injury.
