About: Swedish Breed Horses
Horse breed names are much like how humans have citizenship to their countries. The Swedish warmblood horses were bred in Strömsholm and Flyinge, Sweden, but the Swedish stock was imported from Denmark, England, France, Spain, Russia, Turkey, Hungary, and Germany in the 17th century.
Swedish Warmbloods were small when they first began. Later on in their development as a breed, they were mixed with large draft horses, donating genes coded for size and strength. Contemporary Swedish Warmbloods are built for riding, and make great dressage, jumper, and eventing partners.
