About: Austrian Breed Horses
Today, these wonderful creatures are primarily bred for competition show jumping and dressage purposes. Austrian Warmblood horses come from a bloodline that grew out of old Austrian cavalry horses, and have had many other lines bred into their own to enhance their show jumping and dressage abilities.
However, stock breeds such as trotters, ponies, gaited horses, Lipizzaners, Kladrubers, and Quarter Horses are not allowed into the Austrian Warmblood pedigree.
